Police in California arrested a former Oklahoma City man accused of evading police for hours by befriending a homeowner who invited him into his home for a meal.

Officials say Dominique Tabb, 35, was arrested in the Silicon Valley city of  Palo Alto around 10 p.m. Monday.

According to Oklahoma court records, Tabb is wanted on charges filed in 2010 for lewd or indecent acts with a child out of Oklahoma County.

Palo Alto Police say they responded to a report about a fraudulent transaction at a local bank Monday. Tabb was accused of running from police, sparking a manhunt.

Police say a homeowner saw Tabb in his yard, invited him inside and fed him.

Officials say the homeowner was about to give Tabb a ride when officers spotted them and arrested Tabb.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
