Police: Woman Steals Money From Accounts Using ATMs

Tulsa police are investigating a woman they say has stolen money from the bank accounts of about a dozen victims, using ATMs.

They're not sure how she's doing it, but say it's easy to protect your ATM transactions. They call it the three Cs:

• Cover your pin whenever you punch in the numbers.
• Close your transaction - make sure the screen says it's completed.
• Check your account frequently to see if somebody is withdrawing or spending your money.

Detective Mathias Wicks, with TPD Financial Crimes, said, "We don't want them to go to the ATM and not be conscious of what could happen. We don't want to spook people, but you need to know to guard yourselves."

Police say the woman is taking between $200 and $400 during each theft.
