Motorcyclist Dead After Being Hit By Car In Tulsa

A motorcyclist died after being taken to a hospital in critical condition Friday afternoon.

Witnesses told authorities the motorcycle rider was eastbound on 51st Street near Yale, attempting to turn into a Red Lobster when a westbound gray vehicle hit the motorcycle.

EMSA took the 24-year-old rider to Saint Francis in critical condition; he was later pronounced dead. Police said he was not wearing a helmet.

The 17-year-old driver of the gray vehicle was not hurt and is not expected to be cited for anything according to Tulsa Police.

Officers said they are working to notify the rider's family.

No names have been released.
