Lauren Hensel, 24, the driver of the PT Cruiser, died after being thrown out of the vehicle in the crash. Her 5-year-old son, who was in a car seat, survived with only minor injuries. Police said Hensel wasn't wearing a seat belt.

According to court documents, Deason made an unsafe lane change and clipped the front of Hensel's car and sending it off the highway where it rolled onto its top.

He's charged with one count of negligent homicide and one count of unsafe lane change, both misdemeanors.

Deason turned himself in and bonded out of jail on Monday, September 8, 2014.
