A teenager was stabbed while walking down the street in east Tulsa. It happened outside the Colonial Elms apartment complex near 11th and Memorial.

The teenage victim had to go to the hospital, and the person who stabbed him is still on the run.

Police say a 17-year-old boy was walking down Memorial around 2:30 a.m. He told officers that all of the sudden, someone jumped out from behind the trees with a knife.

The victim says he tried to back away, but the suspect stabbed him in the arm and ran off. He didn't give officers any description of the man, but says the suspect didn't take anything.

After he was stabbed, police say the victim ran back to the apartments to ask for help.

EMSA did take him to the hospital. We're told it was more of a cut than a stab wound, and the teen is expected to be fine.
