Man Arrested After Wreck On Highway 51 In Broken Arrow

Broken Arrow emergency responders were called to a two-car collision at about 1 a.m. on Highway 51 at the intersection with Evans Road (225th East Avenue).

Police at the scene said a white SUV was northbound on Evans Road and failed to yield to a car that was westbound on Highway 51. The SUV pushed the car off the road and into a field north of the highway, authorities say.

There were minor injuries, but no one was taken to the hospital. The man driving the SUV was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

One lane of Highway 51 was closed for about an hour during the investigation and cleanup.
