A parent attempting to pick up her child from school reportedly became upset in the pick-up line and drove toward a teacher and struck her, according to the Muskogee Police Department.
The alleged incident took place at Hilldale Elementary School about 3:30 p.m. on Monday, MPD Cpl. Michael Mahan said.
The teacher was directing traffic with a hand-held stop sign when the parent became upset because she couldn't find her child, Mahan said. She then attempted to pull around the teacher, who gave verbal warnings to the parent not to do so because the area was a school bus loading zone, according to MPD.
The parent reportedly ignored the warnings and kept driving. At one point, the driver is alleged to have driven toward the teacher, striking her with the front bumper of the vehicle, Mahan said.
The teacher was not injured and did not require any medical attention.
The teacher, parent, and eyewitnesses have been interviewed and the case is being submitted to the Muskogee County District Attorney's Office for review.
At this time, no arrests have been made, Mahan said.
