The Oklahoma Highway Patrol plans to crack down on drinking and driving over the holiday weekend.
Extra troopers and officers will be patrolling roads across Green Country this Saturday, looking for drunk drivers.
Experts said there are more than 4,500 alcohol related crashes in our state every year, and close to 220 people are killed.
Eric Smoot with the ABLE Commission, said, "The DUIs have to stop. Countless people are losing their lives for no reason. People know in this state it is illegal to drink and drive, yet they continue to do it. And we're going to do our part to make sure that stops."
Seven people were killed on Oklahoma roads last Labor Day weekend.
