One man died and another was arrested after an argument turned violent on Sunday night, police said. Police said in initial reports that the quarrel was over a woman, but later said that does not appear to be the case.
"It is more like two people that do not like each other end up at the same location, a girl's house," said Tulsa Police Sergeant Dave Walker.
Tulsa Police said they arrived at 114th Street and East 38th at 9:19 p.m. after a man was stabbed by another multiple times. The 19-year-old attacker, identified as Austin Nation, left but then came back and turned himself in, police said.
Police have not released the identity of the victim yet. They say the 20-year-old man died at the hospital.
Walker said the investigation revealed several people were gathering at a home when a fight broke out. The girl told Nation to leave her house, and he argued with her, Walker said.
The victim was inside and Nation was outside, according to Walker. The victim went outside, where Nation stabbed him, Walker said.
Walker asks anyone who was at the scene who left prior to police arriving to call TPD's homicide division at 918-596-9135.
Nation was booked into the Tulsa County jail on a complaint of first-degree murder.
It is Tulsa's 29th homicide of 2014.
