Broken Arrow's Chamber of Commerce announced plans Thursday to build a Creative Arts Center in the community's up-and-coming Rose District.
The center would not only include a performance space, but also classrooms, workshops, laboratories, and galleries.
The idea is for the center to host all kinds of art - everything from music, visual and culinary arts to video, audio and sound projects.
Project Consultant, Dr. Ed Huckeby said, "The arts provide a hub for activity and revitalization of downtowns, and that's what’s going on in Broken Arrow right now. And this will simply provide the next step."
The center would go in at the corner of Dallas and Main Street, where the AVB bank sits now.
Before the project can move forward, Broken Arrow residents have to give the city permission to use money from a bond passed by voters in 2008.
The issue will be on Broken Arrow's August 26th Special Election ballot.
