Police say a man who staked out a Sand Springs convenience store came back 30 minutes later to rob it. The crime took place at the Kum and Go on Adams Road and Morrow Road.

The man went into the store with a gun and demanded money from the clerk shortly after midnight, according to police.

Authorities are looking over surveillance video of what happened. That's how they learned the man had entered the store twice during the night.

They say he came in first around 11:40 p.m. Sunday. He could be seen walking around the store without wearing anything to hide his identity.

When he came back over 20 minutes later, that's when police say he came in with something over his face. He pulled out a gun and demanded cash.

The clerk handed over the money and then the suspect took off, later jumping in a late model Dodge pickup, according to police.

Officers believe the suspect was headed towards Tulsa.

Police say after entering the Kum and Go for the first time, the man was seen driving around a nearby Best Western in Sand Springs several times.

Police are investigating why.

The man is described to be a white, dark-haired male, about 5'8 to 5'10, around 30-40 years old, wearing a hoodie and brown hat.

If you have any information, you're asked to call Sand Springs police at 918-246-2531.
