The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says an elderly Tulsa man died after a two-car crash on the Muskogee Turnpike early Friday.
Troopers said Paul Laughlin, 94, had stopped his 2008 Toyota in the outside westbound lane at about 2:48 a.m. when it was hit from behind by a 2014 Toyota driven by Carol Hinkley, 65, of Tulsa.
The crash occurred about three miles east of Broken Arrow in Wagoner County.
The OHP says the impact threw Laughlin from his car. The report stated he was not wearing his seat belt.
Troopers said Hinkley was treated and released at a Tulsa hospital.
The OHP said it doesn't know why Laughlin stopped on the highway.
