Police Investigating Officer-Involved Shooting In Muskogee

Muskogee police are investigating after an officer-involved shooting.

Corporal Mike Mahan said they responded to a call of people fighting near 30th Street and Boston Street. He said it started in a car between three people, one of them acting suicidal with a knife.

Mahan said before police arrived two of the people in the car started to fight. He said during the fight the person with the knife stabbed one of the other people inside the car, got out then stabbed himself.

He said the two inside the car followed the man with the knife and a fight between the three of them began as officers arrived.

Mahan said the suicidal person lost the knife in the fight but got it back and advanced toward the officers. He said one officer fired at him.

Police say both the suicidal man and the person stabbed were taken to a Tulsa hospital but their conditions are unknown.

Police have not released any names.
