Man Bites Tulsa Police Officer In Walgreens Arrest

Police called in medics to treat an officer who was bitten by a man at a Tulsa Walgreens. The officer was injured while making an arrest Monday night.

Police say they got a call from the 15th and Lewis Avenue Walgreens that a man was trying to get drugs with a fake prescription.

An officer tried to arrest the man who then put up a fight.

"It turned into a full-blown wrestling match," said witness Joe O'Shansky. O'Shansky said another officer tried to help, but the man managed to get away briefly.

"He was a wiry guy, kind of; he didn't look that strong," the witness said.

Officers were able to get the man into custody, but he bit one of them on the hand.

Tulsa Firefighters and EMSA medics treated the officer's wound. The suspect was taken to jail.
