Tulsa Police are gathering evidence after a sexual attack at an apartment complex in the 1100 block of East 45th Place early Friday.
Officers say the attack occurred inside an apartment at about 3:30 a.m. They said the 79-year-old victim was asleep prior to the attack.
Police confirmed to News On 6 this latest incident is connected to a series of assaults since May across the city.
Officers said a man broken into a woman's home in the 900 block of South Darlington by cutting through a screen door. The man threatened his victim with a knife, rubbed himself against her in a sexual manner, made lewd comments and then left with her cell phone.
Police believe that assault was the fifth incident since May. They say the man has struck in different parts of town and looks for women who live alone or are home alone at the time.
Detectives describe the man as being in his early 20s, 5'10" and weighing 160 pounds. They said he keeps his face covered during the attack.
Police said EMSA took Friday's victim to the hospital. They say the woman was not seriously injured but was disoriented and doesn't remember a lot about the assault.
