A 20-year-old man is dead after rolling his pickup in Pontotoc County. The fatality crash took place at 5:05 p.m. Saturday on County Road 3470, about 13 miles west of Ada.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say Brandon Hatton of Ada was exceeding the speed limit in his 2006 Ford pickup while northbound on the county road. As Hatton crested a hill, he met another vehicle that was coming southbound.

Hatton left the roadway to the right, hitting a culvert and a corral, according to a collision report.

His pickup rolled an unknown number of times before coming to rest on its wheels. Hatton, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected almost 30 feet from the truck, the report states.

The investigating trooper said the cause of the wreck was unsafe speed.
