Rain Likely Through The Weekend In NE Oklahoma

News On 6's WARN Team Meteorologist Alan Crone says a pattern for late night and early morning storms will remain for the next several days.

There is a chance of severe weather through the weekend across southeastern Kansas and northeastern Oklahoma.

A line of thunderstorms is moving through Oklahoma into Arkansas Thursday morning. WARN Team Meteorologist Alan Crone says these storms are producing some strong to severe thunderstorms with damaging winds.

"This pattern for late night and early morning storms will remain for the next several days," Crone said in his weather blog.

A number of Oklahoma and Arkansas counties are under the Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 1 p.m.

The counties include:

  • Adair
  • Cherokee
  • Craig
  • Creek
  • Delaware
  • Mayes
  • Muskogee
  • Nowata
  • Okmulgee
  • Ottawa
  • Rogers
  • Sequoyah
  • Tulsa
  • Wagoner

Several Oklahoma counties are currently under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning.

Crone says additional storms could develop and move into the area later Thursday and Friday.

He says rain will remain the forecast for the entire weekend with some thunderstorms possibly producing heavy downpours.
