A Bartlesville woman was charged with child neglect in Washington County court Monday after her 2-year-old daughter recently tested positive for methamphetamine.
According to an affidavit, Wendy Dill was arrested by Bartlesville Police after officers searched her home on May 30, 2014, and found meth, syringes, smoking pipes and illegal drugs.
Along with the neglect charge, prosecutors charged Dill, 35, with possession of a controlled and dangerous substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said the child's father told authorities he became concerned about his daughter when Wendy Dill told him she had lost 40 pounds in two months.
When questioned, Dill told police she had been "smoking, injecting and sniffing" meth since mid-March. She denied exposing her daughter to the meth, but said "it was possible that the child may have found some of her boyfriend's meth and ingested it accidentally."
The affidavit said the child tested positive for methamphetamine in mid-May.
Dill is being held on $25,000 bond.
