Tulsa Police say the investigation continues into a Friday afternoon shooting involving a Hillcrest security guard. A 35-year-old man is dead after police say he pulled a gun on the guards who were trying to detain him.
He has been identified as Jorge Urbina, a Ft. Worth resident.
"An alert employee called Hillcrest security after seeing a suspicious male in the parking lot acting as if he was going to steal a vehicle," Homicide Sergeant Dave Walker said in a news release.
When security guards arrived at the parking lot in the 1200 block of South St. Louis Avenue, police say they found Urbina trying to steal a Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Walker said three Hillcrest guards chased the man after he started running south. Urbina fell down and was confronted by one of the officers. The suspect was sprayed with pepper spray but produced a handgun and escaped, according to police.

The guards continued to give chase, and again confronted Urbina near the southwest end of the parking lot, Walker said.
"The Hispanic male produced the handgun again, pointed it at officers at which time one security officer fired one shot killing the Hispanic male," the release states.
Walker said they recovered a .40-caliber handgun by Urbina's body. It had been reported stolen in Oklahoma City earlier this month.
Police say they also found a pickup truck with enclosed trailer that belonged to the suspect. There were numerous stolen items in the truck, Walker said.
"Detectives were able to determine that the Hispanic male and his girlfriend were from the Dallas-Fort Worth area and had driven on Highway 40 east through Fort Smith, Van Buren and Springdale, Arkansas," Walker said.
Authorities believe Urbina had committed burglaries in Arkansas. They will be working to return stolen items to their owners. They interviewed his girlfriend at the shooting scene, Walker said.
Walker said they may release the woman's name if criminal charges are brought against her.
