The Tulsa Fire Department says four apartments were damaged at a south Tulsa apartment complex in the 6400 block of South Newport Avenue Wednesday morning.
Fire Captain Stan May said two of the apartments sustained fire damage while two others received smoke and water damage. He said firefighters reported visible flames and heavy smoke coming from two floors of one of the buildings in the complex as they arrived on scene just before 9 a.m.
Firefighters knocked the fire down quickly and said everyone in the complex was okay.
They did say initially one person was reported missing, but they believe that person was at work and not at home at the time.
Captain Stan May said the fire started in a ground floor apartment and spread up into the attic above the second floor apartments.
Cause of the fire remains under investigation
