A 6-year-old boy is in critical condition with burns on half his body after a fire at an east Tulsa home.
A Tulsa fire investigator says several kids and teens were home alone, near East Pine Street and North 97th East Avenue, when the fire started.
Tulsa Fire Captain Stan May said the boy's parents were working, mowing lawns, Sunday when they left the boy at their home with a 13 year old and another child.
He said the 6-year-old boy put out most of the flames then ran to a home about a block away to get help.
He was transported to Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. Shriner John Fields notified News On 6 that the boy has been transferred to the Shriners Hospitals For Children in Galveston where there is a burn center.
Police said conditions in the house are deplorable, and there were at least six dogs and cats inside the home.
Investigators have sent swabs from inside the home for testing to learn what ignited the fire.
Police are investigating.
