We love being able to witness military homecomings, and this one happened at Park Lane Early Childhood Center. It was a very special moment.
Kim Frie led us to Tasha Willson's class room. Corinna Stamper and her little brother and big sister have a surprise coming: their dad Cory is home from deployment.
Three-year-old Landon got his first "in person" hug since last summer. Cory's been deployed on the Aircraft Carrier Harry S. Truman.
"This is my third deployment, I've been in the Navy eight and a half years," said Cory Stamper, Machinist's Mate Second Class.
He works on the nuclear power plant aboard the Truman. His wife Lindsey has been working on this little surprise for the last couple of months. She's at least as glad as the kids to have dad home.
Lunch time when we got there, Corinna had to let go of dad long enough for lunch. Mrs. Willson the teacher got a cupcake cake for the occasion - so cupcakes all around.
Welcome home, Cory Stamper. Nice to have you back.
