Police say thieves broke into 12 vehicles and maybe more across midtown Tulsa Wednesday evening.

Officers said the first reports came from owners of two vehicles parked at Sheridan Lanes bowling alley at 3121 South Sheridan just after 6:30 p.m.

One victim told police thieves broke into his pickup and took a checkbook and GPS unit.

Officers said another pickup truck was burglarized outside Travelers Bingo at 3025 South Sheridan.

Security guards at the Cobblestone Apartments at 7643 East 51st Street told Tulsa Police they discovered seven vehicles with door locks broken and a variety of items including car stereos stolen. Officers said it appeared someone had damaged a security fence to gain access to the apartment complex and the vehicles.

Several more vehicle burglaries were reported outside Pickles Pub at 4902 South Sheridan.

Tulsa Police believe all these burglaries are related.

Officers expect the number of burglaries to rise once owners discover their vehicles were broken into late Wednesday.
