Two men are in custody, one of them injured, after a drug deal gone wrong led to fighting, stabbing and shooting. Police say it's a confusing situation.

Police say it started near 61st Street and Peoria, when two men attempted to buy drugs from another man. Once the deal had been completed the two men realized the drugs were fake and returned to the buyer to get their money back.

Officers say a fight broke out and a knife was produced and one of the men was stabbed.

They say a civilian construction worker saw the men fighting and attempted to break it up. He then approached the scene a produced a gun.

Officers said the two men who originally bought the drugs got into a vehicle and attempted to run the construction worker over twice. They say this led to the construction worker firing multiple shots, hitting the individual who had already been stabbed.

"It's a very confusing scene. Basically, these two males purchased the narcotics, and then they came back because they realized they were fake, tried to get their money back, the fight ensued. The construction worker notices the fight, tries to get the people to stop, that didn't' work so he comes over from his construction site to the scene and produces a weapon," said Tulsa Police Officer, Peter Maher.

He said, "The person enters the vehicle, the person meaning our individual at the Sand Dollar Apartments who was shot and stabbed, and the operator of the vehicle tries to run the construction worker with a firearm over, and the construction worker fires several shots."

When police arrived, the injured man was transported to a Tulsa hospital and his condition is unknown at this time. Police say his accomplice was taken into custody.

Police say the man selling the drugs is still missing.

No names have been released at this time.
