Firefighters from Skiatook and Collinsville say a prescribed burn got out of control early Tuesday morning.

The fire burned pasture land northwest of the intersection of Highways 20 and 75.

Firefighters said the fire began as a prescribed burn Monday evening, but got out of hand early Tuesday. They said strong winds pushed the fire close to homes on the west side of Highway 75 near 176th Street North.

So far, officials say no structures have burned, but smoke from the fire slowed traffic on Highway 75.
