Twelve new cadets will receive their master firefighter certification in a Broken Arrow Fire Department graduation ceremony Friday. It will be held at 2 p.m. at the BA Performing Arts Center, 701 South Main Street.

The cadets were selected from a pool of over 160 applicants in October of 2013, according to a news release from the City of Broken Arrow.

All 12 completed a 24-week academy where they met professional, academic and physical standards.

The Broken Arrow Fire Department provides fire suppression, hazardous materials mitigation and emergency medical services within the city's 105 square-mile fence line, their web site states. James Annas is acting fire chief.
