Forty-five Jenks High School students will travel to Nashville Wednesday for Show Choir Nationals competition at the Grand Ole Opry.
They will give a sendoff performance at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Choir Room in the Jenks High School Music Building.
The Jenks Trojanaires Show Choir will perform an 18-minute presentation of "Mystique," led by directors Larry Downey and Julie Hester. The first competition is set for 9 a.m. Friday morning, according to a news release.
They will be up against show choirs from Florida, California, Iowa, West Virginia and other states.
Finalists will compete on Saturday for top honors. The junior and senior singers recently won fifth runner up in a national competition at the FAME Show Choir competition in Chicago. They were the only Oklahoma group to perform in that competition, the release states.
