Tulsa police are looking for a man who shot a homeowner early Tuesday morning. The victim's wife and five children were inside the home when it happened.
Officers were sent to the home in the 300 block of East 27th Court North just before 4 a.m. Police the homeowner heard a noise, and as he went to investigate, a person in a dark-colored hoodie kicked in the door, shot the man once in the stomach and left.
EMSA took the victim to the hospital in what police said was serious condition.
"He will make it, we have faith," said the victim's wife, Michelle Caddell.
She said her husband is in the hospital in critical condition. She thinks there may have been two suspects.
"They shot him, and all I heard was 'Baby call the police, call the police. I've been shot,'" Caddell said.
She said her five kids, ages five to 13, were all in the house with her when her husband was shot. When asked about them, she couldn't contain her emotions.
"Who would do this to me and my kids? Why would you come in my house and literally shoot, while I have five kids in my house," Caddell asked.
Police have virtually no description of the suspect, and are still working on a motive. Until then, Michelle Caddell is just left to wonder what happened.
"I don't know. I'm clueless like everybody else is. I'm hurting so bad. I don't know," Caddell said.
