Ten years after his disappearance, the search is still on for missing NSU student Stephen Adams. On Monday, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation began another dig in Muskogee County after receiving a tip.

Crews finished in the evening, but, unfortunately nothing promising was found in the area of land they focused on. But they aren't giving up.

On Monday, a small plot of land behind what's left of an old home on Fort Gibson was the focus of a team of investigators after a tip came into OSBI that there might be something in connection with the disappearance of NSU student Stephen Adams.

"It is a forensic investigation and they are looking for human remains," Muskogee County District Attorney, Larry Moore, said. "They have to believe in it in order to put in as much effort into doing something like this."

Adams disappeared in 2004, and there has been no sign of him since, despite several similar digs by OSBI, one earlier this month.

Moore hopes this time they find something. He said for ten years, he has wanted to close and prosecute this case.

"Maybe even more important for his father is finding his son. And that's something Mr. Adams has never ceased doing is trying to find where his son is," Moore said.

The crew specifically searched a cistern behind the foundation of an old home, but the process was a difficult one.

"The majority of today has been spent in preparation. Just in the last hour and a half have they started at the location where they want to be," Moore said. "They've been moving trees and debris and rocks, the majority of the day."

Law enforcement is protecting the area and crews said they will resume the search Tuesday morning.

Officials say that if they receive a credible tip they will follow through in order to provide answers to the family.
