Tulsa Community College's presidential search committee on Monday released the names of the three candidates to replace the school's president Thomas McKeon who retires later this year.
The three, Dr. Leigh Goodson, Dr. Richard Shrubb and Dr. Ann Valentine are scheduled to be in Tulsa on April 1, 2, and 3 to participate in public forums and meet with the school's regents.
TCC says McKeon has served the college for 33 years in various administrative roles and for the last decade as the college's president. He is set to retire June 30, 2014.
The school says the three candidates mark the first time Tulsa Community College will select a president from outside the college.
The public forums begin with Dr. Richard Shrubb on Tuesday, April 1 at TCC's Northeast Campus; followed by Dr. Leigh Goodson on Wednesday, April 2 at TCC's Southeast Campus; and Dr. Ann Valentine on Thursday, April 3 at TCC's Metro Campus.
School officials say in addition to the public forums, each candidate will meet privately with individual members of the Board of Regents. They say the regents hope to vote on a final candidate prior to McKeon's retirement.
Dr. Richard Shrubb is president of the Minnesota West Community and Technical College where he recently announced his retirement.
Dr. Leigh Goodson is currently vice president for Research and Institutional Advancement at the Oklahoma State University's Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa.
And Dr. Ann Valentine is chancellor at Ivy Tech-Wabash Valley in Indiana where she has served in that role for three years.
