Tulsa sophomore guard James Woodard was selected to the All-Conference USA Second Team in a vote by the conference head coaches and media, the league office announced Monday.
Woodard, a native of Arcadia, Okla., averaged 15.3 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game in conference play, leading the Golden Hurricane to a 13-3 C-USA record and a share of the regular season championship. He was one of only two players in the league to average at least 15.3 ppg and 6.1 rpg, and the only player to average numbers that high in all three categories.
Overall, Woodard leads the Hurricane with 14.9 points and 6.0 rebounds, and adds 1.9 assists per game. He has scored double-digit points in 26 games this season, including 23 straight contests.
The second-seeded Golden Hurricane (18-12, 13-3 C-USA) opens the Conference USA Championship at noon on Thursday. TU will play the winner of the Tulane and North Texas/Rice game, which will be played Wednesday. North Texas and Rice play Tuesday.
