A 23-year-old Arkansas man was hospitalized following a one-vehicle rollover collision with a tree in Adair County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Matthew Smith of Siloam Springs, Ark., was northbound on U.S. Highway 59 at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.

A collision report says Smith departed the roadway to the left, rolled his van one quarter time, struck a tree and came to rest in a ditch.

Smith was pinned and had to be extricated by the Stilwell Fire Department.

The investigating trooper said Smith was wearing a seat belt and there was snow and ice on the roadway that were contributing factors to the crash.

He was transported to a Stilwell hospital and is said to be stable with internal/external and head injuries, the report says.
