A Broken Arrow couple is reeling after their new home was targeted in an overnight shooting Sunday. They want the world to know that the old owners may have had criminal connections - but the new residents do not.

Raymond Wilson said he woke to what he thought was an explosion at about 2:30 a.m.

"It kind of sounded like a bomb went off," Wilson said later that morning.

He got up and started walking around his home of four months, located near 71st and 129th East Avenue. He was shocked to find two large holes where someone had fired a shotgun through a window of their home.

"They actually hit our dining room table and several pellets lodged into the wall," he said. "They lodged into the side of the refrigerator. It left debris in the dining room and the kitchen."

Wilson called police and said they were there "in two minutes." Meanwhile, he comforted his wife and their 23-month-old son.

Police found .12-gauge shotgun shells that had been left behind, according to Wilson. They asked him if he had any enemies, but he had no idea why his home would be targeted.

"The Broken Arrow Police said the lady who lived here before had a shady lifestyle," Wilson said. "They alluded to the fact that there were some drug-related activities going on in and out of the house."

The Wilsons bought the house on a short sale and completely renovated it. He said there were holes in the walls, and the couple had all the electrical, plumbing and flooring re-done.

"Up until last night, it was pristine," he said.

The Wilsons are contacting neighbors to see if there is any surveillance video of the shooting. They plan to repair the damage - and are thankful that no one was injured in the attack.

"We have no beef with anybody," Wilson said. "We just want to live peacful in our home. It's pretty traumatic. This is actually very close range... they were just assuming someone was inside this home."
