Tulsa area students tested underwater robots they built in this year's SeaPerch Challenge sponsored by the Office of Naval Research.

Students made robots that challenged robot designs in a course that required speed, maneuverability and retrievals skills.

Students from Broken Arrow, Jenks and Tulsa took part. Events were judged by representatives from the U.S. Corps of Engineers.

It was the second year for the event, according to Tulsa Community College spokesperson Nicole Burgin. The competition was held at Miller Swim School Saturday.
