A teenager is in custody after Tulsa Police say he robbed and then shot a man who was taking out the trash early Wednesday.
Police say the armed robbery, shooting took place in the 1800 block of North Louisville just after midnight.
When officers and emergency personnel arrived on scene, they found the 54-year-old victim lying on the ground with two gunshot wounds to the abdomen.
Officers said the victim was able to give them a description of the shooter.
About five blocks away in the 3200 block of East Seminole, police officers spotted 19-year-old Tevin Griffin, who matched the victim's description. After a short foot chase and the use of a tazer, police took Griffin into custody.
EMSA took the victim to the hospital. There is no word on his condition.
The police report said the victim told officers Griffin had pointed a handgun at him and demanded his wallet. The victim said Griffin then fired three shots at him.
Griffin was booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of robbery with a firearm, shooting with intent to kill and resisting arrest. He is being held in lieu of $126,500 bond. Jail records shows his next court appearance is January 23.
Griffin was previously arrested in June 2013 in connection with the theft of jewelry from kiosk at Promenade Mall.
