Tulsa Police take a 14-year-old boy into custody after they found him wet from hiding in a creek after an attempted burglary late Wednesday.

Officers said they got a call to a home near 63rd and Yorktown at about 11 p.m. An alert neighbor saw the teen outside the home and called police.

Police say the teen used a trash can to climb up to a window.

When officers arrived at the home, they saw the teen run away.

"When he ran from us he found himself into a creek," Tulsa Police Cpl. Jacob Johnston said. "Hid in there for a while until he got too cold or he heard the K9s respond and decided he needed to get up and run."

An officer searching near Joe Creek captured the boy.
