Police: Suspected DUI Driver Hits Tulsa Power Pole

Police say about half a dozen Tulsa homes lost power for several hours after a pickup truck hit a utility pole early Wednesday.

Officers said the crash in the 600 block of South 67th East Avenue happened about 1:30 a.m. The crash cut the pole in half, leaving nearby homes in the dark.

Tulsa Police said the intoxicated driver of the Chevy pickup showed up at the scene and first told officers someone had stolen his pickup truck. Upon further questioning, officers said the man admitted to driving the truck at the time of the crash.

Police said driver didn't appear to have any injuries related to the crash.
