Santa brought some early Christmas gifts to a Green Country family in Broken Arrow Friday. The McCall's weren't planning on their father coming home from deployment in Afghanistan this early.
The returning dad surprised his girls with biggest gift this holiday season.
The men and women of the 1220th returned home Friday after eight months in Afghanistan. As the soldiers and their families reunited, one military wife was hard at work planning a holiday surprise.
The McCalls always brings their daughters to Bass Pro in Broken Arrow for a picture with Santa. This year the girls thought their dad, Specialist Scott McCall, wouldn't be with them - until their visit with Santa brought a big surprise in the form of their dad.
"Look what I have - I told you I have a good present," said Meghan McCall, military wife.
"When we found out that it was going to be right before Christmas - we come up here every year to do pictures with Santa - it was perfect to do it here," she said.
Meghan McCall is Scott's wife. She pulled their children out of school early Friday to make the surprise happen.
"Even though I've known for awhile, it's still the most amazing thing," she said.
"It's amazing," said Specialist Scott McCall. "I miss them a lot - speechless I suppose," he said.
The family was also given a $1,000 gift certificate to Bass Pro Shops from Soldier's Wish.
"It's hard, but you just kind of deal with it and get it done so you can get back to your family," McCall said.
It was an Oklahoma Moment they'll never forget.
