It's not every day you come across someone who shows kindness and a willingness to truly do the right thing. But that is exactly what happened when a local mom visited News On 6's studios in downtown Tulsa to pick up a prize, only to find out it wasn't actually hers.
Tasha Jones brought her son Lavell to the studio Wednesday and spoke with our receptionist Kortney.
Turns out, it was another winner with the last name of Jones who actually got the prize not her.
After they left Tasha realized they'd made a mistake, so she and her son came back to News On 6 to return it.
To say thanks for their good deed Kortney gave them a tour of our new building.
Lavell got to meet with Meteorologist Dick Faurot. Lavell even got to try and do the forecast himself. Kortney also took them back into Master Control, where they were able to see all our network feeds and get an idea of what really goes on behind the scenes at the News On 6.
Lavell is a student at Tulsa's Emerson Elementary school.
We just wanted to share their story and say thanks to Tasha and Lavell for being honest and doing the right thing.
