Tulsa Man Arrested, Charged With Robbing KFC, Shooting Employee

Members of the Northern Oklahoma Violent Crimes Task Force Tuesday arrested a man charged with shooting an employee of the KFC on Brookside during an after-hours robbery.

According to court documents, 24-year-old Desean Williams had recently been fired from the KFC near 41st Street and South Peoria Avenue.

On October 22, 2013, police said three men entered the KFC after it closed, robbed the employees inside of their belongings, and forced the manager to open the safe.

One employee was shot in the stomach. He recovered.

The suspects -- three black men in their early 20s-- took the money and took off in a blue Chevrolet pickup, sideswiping a parked car and grazing a tree on the way out of the parking lot.

Though police said the robbers had their faces covered, Williams was identified as the shooting suspect almost immediately by the manager and the employees, according to the affidavit. The manager of the restaurant told investigators he had changed out of his uniform and was only wearing a plain white t-shirt, but somehow the man knew he was the manager.

Williams' father told investigators his son had borrowed his pickup truck for about two hours the night of the robbery and returned it with damage to the driver's side. That truck matched the description provided by witnesses outside the restaurant.

Williams is charged with shooting with intent to kill, robbery with a firearm or dangerous weapon, and leaving the scene of a collision. He is being held in the Tulsa County jail on $101,500 bond.

The other two suspects are not named the affidavit.
