Tulsa Teen Dies After Wreck On Icy Broken Arrow Highway

A Tulsa man died following a weather-related wreck in Broken Arrow. Broken Arrow Police say Travis Spielman, 18, was a passenger in a vehicle driven by another 18-year-old last week.

Elliott Renshaw was driving westbound on State Highway 51 at about 2:10 p.m. when he lost control on the icy highway, according to a release from BAPD. His flatbed Dodge truck left the roadway and rolled.

Renshaw, who was wearing a seatbelt, was taken to a Tulsa hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Spielman, who was not belted in, was thrown from the truck. He died of his injuries the next day.

The wreck is still under investigation by the police department's traffic unit.
