Oklahomans Stocking Up On Clothing, Supplies Ahead Of Winter Storm

With winter weather approaching folks across Green Country are stocking up for the next couple of days.

Academy Sports at 41st and Sheridan was busy Wednesday morning as customers bought all kinds of cold weather gear.

Store manager Mark Sallaway says hand warmers are the hottest selling item so far, but he says customers are also buying children's boots, coats, hats and even shoes with springs on the bottom that it make it easier to walk on ice. Those spring shoes however are already sold out at this store.

Sallaway expects to see even more people Thursday when the storm is expected to move into northeastern Oklahoma.

Best Hardware in Tulsa says items like ice melt, shovels, scrapers and anti-freeze are flying off their shelves.
