Vinita Prison Escapee Recaptured

The Northeast Oklahoma Correctional Center in Vinita says an escapee from their facility has been recaptured.

Stephen Barbee, 25, was last seen Sunday evening.  In a news release, prison officials said Barbee was apprehended Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.

Barbee was serving time out of Delaware County for convictions of possessing stolen property, assault and battery and participating in a riot.

Prison officials said Barbee called the correctional center and told them where he could be found in Delaware County.
