A man speeding away after robbing a Walgreens didn't get far before wrecking, according to Tulsa Police. Roy Alexander, 48, is being held on a $50,100 bond for robbery by force or fear and speeding.
Police say Alexander went into the Walgreens at 81st and South Yale Avenue just before 8 p.m. Thursday and walked up to a cashier who was helping another customer. When the cash register opened, Alexander reached into the cash drawer and forcibly demanded the cash, an arrest report states.
Alexander reportedly left the store in a Buick Park Avenue and was followed by a witness. Police say the 48-year-old Alexander sped down Yale and crashed into a tree at 86th Street.
Police arrested him at the scene and recovered $220.
