The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says some of its campgrounds along the Oklahoma portion of the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System should be open by Nov. 22.
In a news release, the Corps says campgrounds closed earlier this year due to funding limitations that would normally be open, will return to the regular fall schedule.

It says areas normally closed for the fall/winter period will remain closed in accordance with the regular 2013 park schedule.
The Corps cautions that it continues to operate under a short-term continuing resolution and without a federal budget, "it is currently unclear if there will be available funding to keep the parks open for the spring/summer recreation season."
The areas to reopen include:
• McClellan-Kerr Navigation System
Afton Landing
Tullahassee Loop primitive campground
• Webbers Falls
Brewers Bend
Spaniard Creek
• R.S. Kerr Reservoir
Applegate Cove – boat ramp open, primitive camping only
Short Mountain Cove – boat ramp open, primitive camping in winter loop
Cowlington Point – boat ramp open, camping in the winter loop
Additionally, the Corps of Engineers states in the release, because of the continuing budgetary constraints, visitors should be aware that there may be damage to some facilities that will keep them closed, there may be high grass in areas, and some silted boat ramps.
