An elderly Beggs man was critically injured Monday morning when he ran a stop sign while crossing Highway 75, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Floyd Parham, 83, received head and other injuries in the crash and was taken by medical helicopter to a Tulsa hospital.

Troopers say Parham was trying to cross Highway 75 at Preston Road just before 10 a.m.

The OHP says Parham failed to yield at the stop sign and pulled into the path of an International truck that was northbound on Highway 75.

Frederick Harris, the 26-year-old International driver who's from Tulsa, refused treatment at the scene.

The cause of the wreck is listed as failure to yield from stop sign. Both drivers were in apparently normal condition at the time of the wreck.
