Travelers have a new option when flying out of Tulsa International Airport. Allegiant Air began non-stop service Friday to Sanford, Florida, just north of Orlando.
The airline specializes in low ticket prices, but charges fees for nearly everything else. But some travelers we talked to don't seem to mind.
With the pomp and circumstance of a new business, Allegiant Air christened its new service from Tulsa to Florida.
Twice a week, on Monday and Friday, Allegiant Air will take travelers between Sanford, Florida and Tulsa International.
The Owen family picked Allegiant to get them to Disney World. The low cost was a big reason why.
"I thought it was quite a deal," said Justin Owen.
The Owens say they paid $900 the last time they flew to Orlando, and that was for only four tickets. This time, with Allegiant and a new member of the family, the cost is less than $700.

But be aware, the airline charges for practically everything else, including how you book your flights. For example, by phone it's $30 a person roundtrip. Online, it's $20 roundtrip.
To check your bag, if you reserve a spot in advance, it'll cost $40 roundtrip. If you wait until you get to the airport the roundtrip cost can be up to $75 a bag.
The fees even apply to carry-ons: $26 booked in advance roundtrip, up to $150 if you do it at the airport.
The extra costs didn't seem to matter on Friday. The flight from Orlando to Tulsa had 100 passengers on board and it was standing room only for the return trip.
The Owens shipped their bags separately, and say the fees are only as high as you want.
"I like that you know what you're getting. You don't get a bunch of weird, crazy fees on top of it. Whenever you do choose to add on a carry on or whatever, you know what you're paying for," said Kristi Roe-Owen.
The director of the Tulsa International Airport says Orlando is a top 10 destination for its travelers.
Corey Moss just moved to Tulsa from Florida. He said the low fares should make Allegiant very popular.
"For people like me, who need to get somewhere quick, it's really, really good," Moss said.
TIA hopes the success of this flight out of Tulsa to Orlando opens up other destinations for Allegiant to fly to, such as Arizona or other Florida cities.
