A hole in the bridge forced the Oklahoma Department of Transportation to restrict traffic on Highway 169 near Owasso.

ODOT closed the right lane of westbound SH-266 (46th Street North) and the left lane of southbound 169 Tuesday morning for emergency deck repairs on the Highway 266 bridge over 169.

ODOT says its crew discovered a small hole in the deck and started making repairs.

At 4 p.m., ODOT announced it had reopened the left lane of southbound 169, and about a half-hour later announced the right lane of westbound 266 had reopened, too.

ODOT has to make repairs to the bridge frequently.

Earlier this month, the Oklahoma Transportation Commission awarded an $8.3 million contract to Sherwood Construction to replace the bridge. Work should begin in a couple of months, with completion set for a little more than a year after it begins.
