Police say a Tulsa woman bit her arresting officer as she was taken to jail Sunday morning. Alisha Berte was booked for assault and battery on a police officer and public intoxication.
According to arrest records, police were called to a hotel near the 244 and 169 interchange at about 1:40 a.m. on complaints about Berte and her boyfriend. Several people staying at the motel told police the couple was very intoxicated, yelling loudly at each other and others. They also knocked on random doors, police say.
Police told the couple to go to their room, and they did so.
"Alisha returned a few minutes later," the arresting officer said in his report. "Officers told her to go back to her room in which she refused and told officers to arrest her."
The 26-year-old woman was very unsteady on her feet, smelled strongly of alcohol and had red, watery eyes, the report states.
When she was taken to the David L. Moss Jail, Berte reportedly refused to get out of the patrol car. As police tried to get her out of the car, she bit one officer on his right leg, the report states.
She then had to be carried into jail, police said.
