Good Morning friends!  I hope you had a super-great wonderful weekend.  The weather was awesome for most locations, but the showers Saturday did linger longer than I anticipated across southeastern OK.  Sunday's weather was spectacular with sunny conditions and highs near 70.

A surface ridge of high pressure will be the dominate feature  in the short term, but southerly winds will quickly return during the next 24 to 36 hours with a gradual warm up in temperatures expected during the next few days.  Today should be awesome with cool morning temperatures.  The winds will be light and the sky will be clear.  Afternoon highs today will be in the lower or mid 70s with lower 80s for the Wednesday through Friday time period.  Morning lows will still be cool Tuesday through Thursday morning with 50s likely, but lows will move into the lower 60s Friday and Saturday.

Friday into the weekend most data supports another upper level system nearing the central to northern plains with a surface cold front nearing the state Saturday into Sunday.  This boundary combined with the approaching trough will be near the state Friday into the weekend creating another chance for showers and storms near the region.  The boundary may stall for a day or so allowing for an unsettled weather pattern from the weekend into early next week.  There should also be a southern stream system late this weekend into early next that may also keep the southern plains active.  The bottom line:  some rain-thunderstorm chances will be in the forecast from Friday through the weekend.  This also includes the DFW Metroplex area, just in case you're making the trip for the OU game.

The high in Tulsa yesterday was 68 recorded at 4:19pm.
The normal daily average high is a76 and the low is 53.
The daily records include a high of 98 from 1979 and 1931.  The daily record low is 32 from 2012.

You'll find me on Facebook and Twitter.

I'll also be discussing the state-wide and regional weather forecast on numerous Radio Oklahoma News Network affiliates across the state this morning through the noon hour.

Thanks for reading the Monday Morning Weather Discussion and blog.

Have a super great day!
